Launch of Alleyn's School Enterprises Limited. During the past year David Young has been working on developing a commercial trading operation for the School, letting out facilities to outside parties for gain. This operation has now grown sufficiently that the time has come to formalise this activity and the School's new trading subsidiary, Alleyn's School Enterprises Limited (ASEL), has now been launched with a splendid brochure setting out the services that the School can offer. Our School is blessed with wonderful buildings and resources, ranging from the award-winning Edward Alleyn Building with its purpose-built conference suite and outstanding Michael Croft Theatre, to the superb sports grounds at Townley Road and Burbage Road. Our catering operation, run by Holroyd Howe, has a justifiably excellent reputation for providing a highly professional catering and entertainment service for our School community. Outside of London, Alleyn's has its well equipped field centre in the beautiful Peak District, suitable for a whole range of group activities. ASEL will hire out these sports, performance and dining facilities and the accommodation at Buxton to external groups and individuals, generally outside of School hours and predominantly during the School holidays, at weekends and in the evenings. Notwithstanding the introduction of this trading operation the School will continue to offer its facilities to community groups and, of course, will ensure that our pupils' access to and experience of the School's amenities and that of Club members to the Burbage Road site, is not hindered or compromised. David welcomes enquiries from former pupils and friends of the School who might be interested in holding meetings or training days in our conference suite, parties or celebrations in our dining rooms, the Atrium or the Great Hall or sports fixtures at the main School site or at the Club.
