Market Gravity is a Management Consulting Company specialising in innovation for large companies. We help Corporate Entrepreneurs cut through the red tape and get their ideas to market swiftly. Have a look at our website: http://www.marketgravity.com/ for more info. We have grown fast from 2 people 3 years ago to 20 people today. And we've just moved into quirky new offices in a converted Railway Arch near Waterloo Station. I'm responsible for everything in the business that isn't Consulting, and I'm stretched too thin now. So I'm kicking off a rolling Intern Programme offering Work Experience to Graduates who want to dip their toe in the business world, find out more about how it ticks, and add something positive to their CV. I'm planning to employ these Interns for a six week stretch each and pay them £50 per day plus travel expenses. The programme is open ended - hence the rolling! And there is potential for excellent interns to be kept on longer and for outstanding interns to be offered a permanent job. The role is office based, and will be varied - from organising stuff for the office and staff - events, travel, phones, refreshments - to excel spreadsheets and data input - and much more if the intern is up for it! I need someone to start as soon as possible - ideally Monday 2nd April - for the first 6 week stint. I'm not currently planning to cast my net any wider than the Alleyn's pool of Graduates. I regard Alleyn's and the pupils it produces in very high esteem and would prefer to recruit exclusively from their talent pool. 'Fagin's Last Hour' will be playing at the Michael Croft Theatre on Saturday 19 May at 7.30pm. We regret to report the death of Ronnie Gray in September 2011. Mr Gray was the the first chairman of Alleyn's School's Board of Governors when Alleyn's ceased to share its board of governors with Dulwich College in 1995. He held this position until 2002. Mr Gray was made a Fellow of Alleyn's School in 2010. Naomi writes: 'I am climbing to Everest Base Camp in September for a charity called Childreach International (www.childreach.org.uk) and I was wondering if Alleyn's had any funds in order to sponsor alumni, even a small amount of money, to do charity events like this? If you can help Naomi please contact the alumni office.

The award was announced at a reception and ceremony in the Grand Saloon at The Theatre Royal, Drury Lane; it was presented to David by Zoe Wannamaker for his book Covering McKellen: An Understudy's Tale published last year by Rickshaw Publishing.
Covering McKellen is David's frank and funny diary of the RSC's world tour of Sir Trevor Nunn's King Lear and The Seagull. David was understudy to McKellen's Lear and his book takes the reader right through from the London rehearsals to the historical Stratford Season, back to the glittering West End, and then out across the globe. Look carefully and you'll spot some walk-on parts by some of our very own AOBs.
A group of Alleyn's former pupils and contemporaries of David were present amongst the large gathering of Society members, theatre managers and employees, actors, journalists and friends to share this moment of (‘completely unexpected,' David announced) success - which was greeted by loud cheers and prolonged applause by all those present.

James Hyland
By royal appointment: James Hyland (né Donovan, T 1985-92) has recently been invited by Her Majesty to attend a Reception at Buckingham Palace in presence of The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh to mark the Bicentenary of Charles Dickens. The invitation is in recognition of James' phenomenally successful Dickens adaptations, universally acclaimed by critics and audiences alike ("RIVETING... STUNNING... UNFORGETTABLE." ~The Stage), including last year's premiere of ‘Fagin's Last Hour' (a one-man show based on 'Oliver Twist') and the recent record-breaking sell-out tour of ‘A Christmas Carol - As told by Jacob Marley (deceased)' for which James has received a nomination for The London Theatre Award 2012. James has also been awarded Best Urban Video at the UK Music Video Awards for 'Disappoint You', a music video/short film by Tinie Tempah, in which James wrote the dialogue and plays the lead role of a corrupt policeman ("THE BEST SHORT FILM... EVER ~UK Hip Hop & Grime).

The money goes towards helping children in Nepal to build a better future, by building and setting up schools, and community centres for example. In order to climb to Everest Base Camp, I am required to raise £2440 by 18th July (eek!), the majority of which goes to the charity, and the rest goes on expenses for climbing!'
