Robin D Pemberton (Tulley's year of 1981), a classmate recalls that his family emigrated to South Africa around 30/31 years ago. Does anyone know anything of Robin now?
Alan Whitten writes (Jan 2011) 'By the way in your contact list do you have anything for a Bill Gietzen'. (Year of 1960). Unfortunately, we don't have contact details here - do you?

Stuart Smith (Roper's Year of 1975) posted on the members' forum: 'Does anyone know what happened to Nigel Lee, taught English left in about 1975 and I think moved North.' |
Nigel Dingley
Nigel writes: 'As next June is going to be the 40 year anniversary of those at Alleyn's from 1964 to 1971, I wonder if you might put something in the "Lost and Wondering" section as to the whereabouts of any of those from the same time including Robin Attwood, Trevor Silver, Derek Godfrey, John Gregory, Tim Brassell, Glen Vaal, Luke van Beck, Alan Wayne and Les Wiltshire. These are the only names that spring to mind at the moment and none appear to be on your database.'
1951, '61, '71, '81 & '91 Reunion: Saturday 18 June, Alleyn's School
Ken Murray
(1958-60) is looking for his old Classics master, Mr WEM Smith. Ken says: 'I'm not even sure he'll still be with us but I still remember his lessons today!' Does anyone know have news about him?

Tulley's House Captain, Ken Farrington (1947-56) is organising this year's Oval Reunion for AOBs who were at Alleyn's in 1945-60. He's trying to locate the following along to invite them to the reunion:
Reg Blacknell, Tony Bowen, Roy Bull, Reg Faithfull, Ken Knapper, Pete Pardoe, Ben Shrubsall, ? Simpson, the Skelton Brothers or Henry Spinks.

Rossall friends
Cyril Hastings (Spurgeon's, 1938-45) is looking for fellow Rossall evacuees and wrote ‘I like the idea of a "Lost and Wondering" section' through which alumni may be able to re-connect with some of their former school-friends. The names he remembers from those days are: Les Cranfield, Michael Jordan, Ron Fern(e), Reg Waller, Bill Bishop.
Cyril recalls that he was billetted with Les Cranfield, Michael Jordan and the late Peter Topley 'at both Platts Heath and Deal and were split up, but nearby, on moving to Newport'. When they moved to Rossall ‘we went into our respective houses albeit still remaining together in Forms.'
We suggested he propose an informal Rossall reunion catch-up in the Pimm's Tent in the alumni ebulletin and Cyril warmed to the theme: ‘The Pimm's tent sound sounds like a good place to meet Rossall OBs and talk over those war years, and of course, the years since then.'
So, if you were at Alleyn's - or Rossall - at the same time as Cyril, please do join him over a jug or three of Pimm's on Founder's Day. If you would like to get in touch with Cyril, please contact the office and we'll be delighted to pass on your message.
Nicholas Ratcliffe (Brown's, 1959-67) wishes to make enquiries about an old school friend with whom he has lost contact. His name is Marc Louis Anderson and, as Nicholas explains: ‘he was my contemporary in the Lower School (1959 to 1961) and subsequently he was in Spurgeon's or Tulley's I think. His address was Wellmeadow Road, Catford I recall.'
Where's JC?

Matt Carroll (Tyson's, 1980-87) is looking ‘to connect with John Cox (Roper's, 1980-1987, pictured here with Headmaster, Derek Fenner) and others in the mob for a trip down memory lane beers, all you can eat pizza and photos. Last seen being an accountant-type at Embankment in early ‘90s.'
If you can help locate any of these people, please contact the Development & Alumni Office.
